PEP Trucks In Front of EJP

At Team EJP, we're always looking for a good company to partner with. When we needed help with transporting water, sewer and drain products within the New England region in 1980, P.E.P. Transportation was formed with a single tractor trailer unit. As we grew, so did P.E.P., adding additional units as needed until they sought their independence in June 1985. When it gained its own operating authority, P.E.P. became a contract carrier within the contiguous United States and has been granted licensing authority in Quebec and Ontario provinces in Canada.

What PEP Transportation Does

With their dedicated core of highly-valued repeat clients, the transportation company regularly ships everything from construction equipment and building materials to food products, and is well equipped to transport specialty and oversize loads. What kind of specialty loads, you ask? Steel to build the Olympic stadium in Atlanta, terraplas flooring for stadium concerts, drying kilns for paper mill to Colorado, snowplows to the Pacific Northwest and materials for the largest pipe project in northern Maine are only a few of the specialty loads PEP has handled for Team EJP and many other companies. Whatever the load and wherever it needs to go, the professionals at PEP Transportation provide quality service using up-to-date, well-maintained equipment to exceed your needs.

Their mission is to provide their customers with the best in world class transportation services through the efforts of their highly-trained, safety-conscious, professional transportation team using the latest proven technologies and a fleet of modern, well-maintained equipment. Wherever your load needs to be delivered...by land or by sea, PEP Transportation has the means to get it there to keep your project on track and on time.

A Brief PEP Transportation Case Study

P.E.P. Transportation was contracted to help move two very large oversize loads for a single project. Two crane pieces needed to be shipped from Hermitage, Pennsylvania and delivered safely to Quincy, Massachusetts. The first load included a piece that was 107 feet long and 11 feet, 11 inches wide, making for an oversized load in all dimensions. The second load was barely under the limit on width at 8 feet, but was also 107 feet long. This type of load requires not only special permits and equipment, they also require drivers who are familiar with long loads and the dangers of high centering on city street and overpasses in hilly, low-lying areas. Because of PEP's focus on specialty loads, they were well equipped to handle this special task.

Front Of PEP TruckEach section of crane was loaded onto a stretch trailer, extended to 80 feet in order to accommodate the 107-foot length of each piece. Following loading, permits were ordered to take care of the legal requirements and line up assistance from state police vehicles in New York and Massachusetts. Two pilot cars were required to assist with each load, with two state police vehicles meeting each load at the state lines, New York and Massachusetts, to lead the load along route 90. Careful planning ensured a safe route to the Quincy, Massachusetts delivery site. PEP drivers Lewis Hanscom and Scott Bennet spent hours ensuring that their loads were secured properly and safe to be transported while Trooper Grant of the Massachusetts State Police helped coordinate vehicles that escorted each load to its destination safely, securely and on time.

At Team EJP, we're dedicated to providing you with the best possible service, and we couldn't do that without our exceptional partners like PEP Transportation. If you have a waterworks project that seems impossible, please contact us to see how we can be of service.
