Valves & Tapping Sleeves
Valving has allowed man to regulate and control fluid flow for hundreds of years, but only in the last century has the design and manufacture of valves kept pace with the demands of the industry. The first such valve was the Double Disc Gate Valve which served the industry well for many years and is still being used in special applications.
The next breakthrough was the Butterfly Valve which has dominated the large diameter valve market because of its ease of operation. This was followed by the Resilient Wedge Gate Valve, a significant improvement over the double disc valve.
The latest development is the lightweight ductile iron Resilient Wedge Gate Valve which incorporates the superior sealing characteristics of the Resilient Wedge Valve and the proven strength and lighter weight of ductile iron. It is the valve of choice in sizes 2" to 30".
